How much does it cost to install blinds or plantation shutters in a new home build? This is a question we get asked a lot!
Many builders or residents want to get a rough idea of how much they can expect to spend on blinds before they start their projects. In many cases, this is so they can get an overview of what the budget will be for their new home or major renovation.
So, how much do blinds cost? The short answer – it depends.
Quoting for blinds is a detailed process and isn’t something that can be done accurately unless we have all the information we need to go ahead and provide a thorough quote.
How much will it cost to install blinds in my new build home?
Unless you’re well into the building process, we’re not able to give an accurate answer as to how much it will cost to install blinds in your home. Even if you have detailed plans drawn up, there are many factors that could alter the cost of the final product.
Whilst we understand most new builders want an idea or an estimate on the costs, we would much prefer to work closely with you to come up with the perfect window furnishing solution for your project, that fits within your budget and meets your needs. We are a full-service business, meaning we work with our clients from day one, all the way through to the completion of the project and beyond, offering ongoing service. For this reason, we much prefer to meet with you in person to get an accurate picture of your project before providing a quote. This also gives potential customers a good look into our company values, service levels and workmanship which is a very important part of what we do.
At what stage of the building process can I get a full quote?
We recommend making initial contact with us around 6 months out from completion. We can’t actually provide an official quote until we have a full consultation with the customer either at our showroom or on their property. It is recommended to book a consultation roughly 4-5 months out from completion so we can work with appropriate lead times.
At the consultation, we will go through all the product options, frame types, fabric choices, and colours. This is where we can also break down the specific product for each window in order to then do an accurate quote.
We then provide an official quote via email to the customer for their consideration. Once approved, we then do a final check and measure of the window frames once they have gone in. Any changes from the measurements on the plans will be noted at this stage and the quote would be adjusted accordingly. The customer would then sign off and secure the quote with a deposit for us to then process the order.
